It provides a scaled down view of the diagram, and not necessarily a scaled down view of the area around the visible part of the diagram. I suppose this might not work that well when you hide the overview's scrollbars, but we don't intend to change this. We'll add these properties after the current V2.3.1 release.

What I really need for the Overview is a FitHeight mode and a tracking rectangle that follows always the main diagram view.

As comparison I see the Diagram as a huge map; I want to see in the Overview where I am on this map; and it should not matter if I move the tracking rectangle from inside the Overview or from outside (from the diagram). Inside the Overview I want to always see the tracking rectangle.

Otherwise if the user dragged the diagram in the main view and the "tracking rectangle" goes out of the Overview what are the chances for him to be able to drag using the tracking again? He must search it inside the overview? What is the overview displaying at that time?

We are preparing the release of our product for beginning of April. We will have for sure customers using it with big (more wider that taller) swimlanes; an Overview with FitAll=True will be sometimes useless (too small tracking rectangle, too small shapes inside); that's why this is a bit of a show-stopper for us.

Unfortunately it seems the Google Maps Overview is broken now (Grin) but our idea is used there already. You drag the map and the tracking rectangle follows the new position immediately.

The users can click to show the tracking rectangle and will be able to drag it again. Not a big deal as Steve Jobs says 8)

Well, for all these years our idea for using the Overview was that you can quickly find another part of the diagram of interest and click on it to show it in the main view. Who would want to auto-scroll all the way from one edge of the diagram to the opposite edge, if they can just click Wink

In any case while your use case is certainly valid, it won't make it into this release.

We could add a public method to let you scroll the overview and synchronize it with the diagram yourself if it's that urgent...
