A long shot

I have, in my application, a task that has multiple outgoing flows. See http://www.yuangchi.com/offtopic/ss1.gif.

Ideally, I'd be able to force the text to be fixed to the first segment of the arrow and rotated and the segment would always be long enough to accommodate the text (like the first 2 of the green arrows).

Questions:
1. Is it actually possible to force my 'ideal' behaviour?
2. Assuming the answer to (1) is 'No', could it be made possible to do it in a future version? (pretty please Kiss)

Roll Eyes What we can do in the short term is extend the SetTextPosition method so that it works with the atsRotate style too. Then you'll just have to ensure the first segment is long enough for the label.

That'd be cool. How do I force the length of an arrow segment?

For the length of the first segment, set CtrlPtY(1), if such segments will be always vertical.
