The containers just arrange everything inside them in a single row or column. We implemented these after a customer's request, and they needed them that way...

If you need a container-like box where items can be placed at arbitrary positions, you can just use a background box and grouping. If an item is dropped over the container box, attach that item to the container. Then moving the container will move all attached items too.
